I currently hold the position of Professor in the Department of English at National Chengchi University, Taiwan. Since February 1, 2024, I have served as Director of the EMI Resource Center, and as of December 25, 2024, I have also taken on the role of Associate Executive Director of the Bilingual Education and Multicultural Promotion Office at my university. My term in these roles will conclude on July 31, 2025. Additionally, I have the honor of serving as the 13th President of the Linguistic Society of Taiwan. I am Associate Editor of both the International Review of Pragmatics (Scopus) and TESOL Communications, and serve on the Editorial Board of Applied Corpus Linguistics (Scopus). I also represent Taiwan in the Comité International Permanent des Linguistes (CIPL) General Assembly for the 2024–2028 term. Beginning August 1, 2025, I will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Taiwan Journal of TESOL (Scopus; ESCI) for a two-year term ending July 31, 2027.
From February 2022 to January 2024, I had the opportunity to serve as the Chairperson of the department. My professional focus encompasses the domains of corpus linguistics, lexical semantics, and cognitive linguistics.
Throughout my career, I have conducted research and published extensively on a variety of subjects, including Malay corpus linguistics, near-synonym analysis, and most recently, an investigation into language use on social media using a corpus-based approach. At my university, I lead a dynamic and dedicated research team specializing in corpus-based research.
It's a journey of self-discovery.
